"And for the record; I'm not god, please don't refer to me as such in future "hahaha

Although I would say there are some situations where a macbook is worth it (with HE discount, not without) but others where non-apple is better.

For about 1000 bucks last year, i built myself a new quad-core desktop gaming pc with peripherals. Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 case (brushed aluminum and steel), new 22 inch Samsung monitor, Logitech g15 keyboard, g9 mouse, etc...

Basically everything you'd want in a computer both superficially and intellectually. Of course, Vista absolutely FLYS on it. I can play any games I want and run any software I want.... My question is this: If you can have it all on a PC for this cheap, why buy a Mac?

And the best thing about a custom built PC is that you could upgrade every component in it whenever you want. It can be upgraded piece by piece as and when you need too. So every 6 months for the next 5 years you'll always have a modern, up to date PC while a Mac or OEM system will slowly age and become obsolete. And it will still work out cheaper for you.

Microsoft doesn't really make PCs of their own so they don't care whether you run their stuff on Sony, HP or even Apple products.

In fact I can bet MS was really excited when Apple allowed their customers to use Windows because they're getting even more of the market share.
