Well this is no surprise at all, the entire US foreign policy is made up of double standards and hypocrisy! Its duplicity and subjectivity when it comes to some international crisis spots really makes you choke with disgust!! Therefore Kurds should not be disappointed, they should be aware that at present time the world is manipulated by hypocrisy and double standards, and it would go on for as long as we unipolar world!!

@bigsoundz Their language most likely got the same origin, but to say Median came from Persian would be wrong, because if you look at the Indo-European language tree, you will see that Median does not come from Persian at all.
And yes they were members of the Persian empire, just as the Persian were a part of the Median.
As a matter of fact, the only ones who could get high ranks (Such as commanders and generals) in the Persian army were Medes (And Persians ofcourse).

@bigsoundz Kurdish and Balochi and some other dead language (Don't remember name) both come from Median.
Median is in: Iranian West-North branch of Indo European language tree.
Persian is in: Iranian West-South branch of Indo-European language tree.
They were close to eachother at the time when Persian was ¨Old Persian¨.
Old Persian -> Middle Persian -> Persian (today)

Kurds speak Persian as their native language (with an accent); They are mentioned as members of the Persian Empire in Documents Thousands of Years Old. Kurds look like Persians.
