Assumption soccer team defeated Sacred Heart on penalty kicks last night in the Jenna Cooper Memorial Cleat Cup. With less than two minutes to go in regulation time, junior Morgan Riggs tied the score 2-2. The score remained tied after two, five minute overtimes. Assumption's goalie, senior Katie Jones, stopped two of Sacred Heart's penalty kicks, putting Assumption in the lead 4-3. Assumption head coach, Kenyon Meyer, said "It just feels wonderful. It feels good to get the cleat back at Assumption." The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award went to Morgan Riggs who scored two goals.
