Rikai: "by my side, you'll never be"

It's my first time editing Rikai (instead of the usual Sokai) but I really liked the idea of this pairing and I wanted to challenge myself. AND THERE'S ACTUALLY A STORY!!

Over the course of a month I edited it like mad, and yet I am still not sure if I'm satisfied with it. I made a LOT more changes along the way than usual, but I'm very proud of how much farther I feel I've come. My favorite part is when Riku throws the log at sora C:

*Story*
In the beginning, Riku and Kairi got along just fine; they were good friends. But when Riku tries to get closer to her, he sees she's interested in Sora. Riku tells her his feelings anyway [and throws a log at sora, lawls..]. When she refuses him, even though he knew she would, Riku begins to fade into darkness: the only thing that really accepts him. He watches Kairi and sees her always with Sora...Her words rang in his ears. "By my side, you'll never be." He can't help but say them aloud. Even though he's becoming darker, Kairi is still his light. Just the thought of her pulls him out of the shadows. That is, until he sees her hugging Sora. He then becomes a puppet to the darkness. Riku wants to show Kairi he's stronger now (show her that "things would be different this time").
Meanwhile, Kairi looks up at the stars and wonders what happened to Riku. Even though she refused him, she still has some feelings for him. That's when they meet again, but they are both very different. There are stars all around them, lighting up the sky. Kairi is shocked, but deep down inside she knows the hooded figure is still Riku. Pulling off his hood, she smiles. Riku's angry, Ansem exterior fades back to his original face. He's shocked for a moment, blindly hoping Kairi was saving him because she loved him. Before she could say anything, Riku was gone. It was difficult for him to be so close to Kairi. As he sat on the other side of the island, Kairi wrote a message in a bottle.
She sent the letter.
Picking it up, Riku curiously opened the bottle and read the letter. Tears brimmed his eyes as he realized it was a love note from Kairi...to Sora. For a moment, he considered witholding the letter from Sora. Kairi and Sora had had a fight earlier in the day, and if he kept the apology note away from Sora, maybe Kairi's feelings for Sora would fade. Riku could never hurt Kairi in that way though. All he wanted was for her to be happy.
He handed the note to Sora, "I think it's for you."
Sora saw it was from Kairi. Immidiately he swam across shore to greet her - riku followed. Kairi held out her hand, as she asked him to be with her. With a big smile on his face, Sora accepted and took her hand.
Riku could hardly watch.
He turned his head and stared at the ocean, trying to hide his pain.
