Here's another video of me messing around with my Bad Cat Cub II NR, 15 watt Class A all tube amp. The guitar is a gibson SG classic with 2 p90's. Amp is set the same as on my Tele video.

  • I've watched a few of your videos and i think you are one of the few people on youtube who do a decent demo that shows off how the amp actually sounds. But they are kind of useless with your camera mic, if you just had an sm57 or maybe a compressor i'd really use your videos as a basis for making thousand dollar purchases. Keep up the good work, thanks for the demos

  • @azlanx yeah, I've since purchased a Canon T2i, and it has an external mic input, so I play on trying to shoot a couple videos using a mic (maybe an audix i5, or I might buy a mic that's specific to camera hot shoe mounting). I've also recently replaced both speakers in the Cub, so I need to shoot new videos to show off the upgrade.

  • what kind of speakers do you have in this amp? or speaker? I have a the same thing in a head version and I like the way it sounds so warm

  • @masonwwilson13 This one has the two Jenson P10's in it. I really want to swap them out. I put a Red Fang in my Mini, and I love it, but I don't want to drop almost $600 on replacement speakers for this amp. The P10's don't really hold together with humbucker guitars very well, the bass becomes too loose. I'm thinking of throwing a pair of ceramic 10's in there, but haven't decided on variety yet. I got a Bogner Alchemist 2x12 open back with a G12H-30 and G12M that sounds fantastic with it.

  • That's really nice. Warm. Gibson P-90's are great. I just bought an SG Classic on ebay after trying several in stores. The pop & bite that you're getting is great.

Are you you using a compressor?

  • @studio1087 No compressor in these clips... just camera mic compression, but I think the tone is very close to what you'd get in person... the only difference may be that the high gain tones are quite a bit dirtier in person, a lot more aggressive and in your face.

  • I thought fender clean was king.

  • I found the SG Classics to be pretty consistant.

The fit and finish and bulky neck profile was nice on all the ones that I played.

I would never buy a Gibson acoustic sight-unseen but the electrics don't worry as much.

I also have a Melody Maker that I bought on ebay and it is a great guitar.

    No worries.

I LOVE P-90's. Great spanky sound.

  • @studio1087 how did the one you bought compare to the ones you tried. if there is anything ive learned is that 2 guitars that are the exact same model can sound completely different

  • This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! This Gibson Is AWESOME Love it.. Thanks for the video!
