Here is a concise vision of the third track of that fantastic album "Tales from Topographic Oceans" of Yes.

In the early seventies people had enough time to listen to a 20 minutes song but nowadays gOD knows how it is so

different.

That why I made a short version of the epic Steve Howe masterpiece called "The Ancient". Unfortunately I haven't got

the musicianship to do something as strong as the band did, but I did it with all my heart.

To make it more comfortable for the youngest people I focused on the last movement when Jon with his marvelous voice

sings with his soul.

"Yes" aficionados would notice few differences with the original song but for normal people trust me, it is more

less the same, so go and buy the album !

Last thing, I couldn't find any video about the Shastric scriptures, as found in a footnote within Paramahansa

Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi, so I tried my best to stick to the theme.

  • hot diggity JoFandango. this is really unique. I deeply appreciate creativity, and you certainly threw it in there WHILE AT THE SAME TIME acknowledging the essence of the original song. that's great that you did it your own way, THANKS for sharing this :D you're dedicating your sincere energy to the one and only Yes, that's awesome. your voice sounds like David Bowie here, lol :D

  • Thank you so much !

You can find other Yes "episodes" on my page and an other topographic one as well...

    Have a beautiful day !

  • Jo- This is a very interesting aproach to this masterpiece of a song. Using your own style definately creates a uniqueness, but your love for Yes is obviously displayed. Good job.

  • Coming from a real Yes fan, it double pleased me ! Thank you !

  • Jo that's a really different approach! What's interesting for me is how you pay tribute to Yes in your own style without worrying to be "Yessish" or "proggish". At the same time both your talents and your love for Yes are equally highlighted. Again refreshing, and uplifting. Merci! Miguel

  • Miguel you know the words that please me !

If I had your talent I maybe won't do the same kind of stuff and be more interested by the thrill of playing those tune the way they are, they're so beautiful. Merci encore à toi.
