My family is currently visiting me in Brisbane, and as a day out we decided to visit the spot of one of the memories of my parent's youth, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. One of the big attractions there is the daily lorikeet feeding, when hundreds of rainbow lorikeets descend onto a central arena of the park, landing on people, these fancy windmill things, or anything else they can find.

Unfortunately, the lorikeets today kept getting spooked by something, and were constantly taking off before we got a chance to feed them. They settled down a little bit right towards the end though, so it wasn't a total fizzer :)
