Ghost Town Ryde...These pictures weren't taken over a long period of time, all the images of failed business` were taken on the morning of the day I uploaded this video, and this isnt all of them-only those I could fit to the audio length...This is the Ryde of today, the Ryde after 11 years of a labour government, the Ryde despite all the promises, so where are all these jobs going to come from Gordon Brown?
That is when you start your planned persecution of the people who are legally entitled to the benefits they are drawing as they have no other choice,which is to a large extent due to the policies of the "prudent Chancellor".

@StewedTomato If you look underneath the video on the left hand side there is a button that says "+ Add to"

Click on the little downward pointing arrow to the right of this and a menu drops down. At the top is favourite, click this to add to favourites. Next is Queue, I think this adds the video to your queue of videos you intend to watch in the order you add them.

this is sooooooooooo cool! what i wouldn't give to wander through those streets,peeking in windows!

so is the town completely empty,or is there some stuff still open to the public?

some of the empty shops had new businesses open up for the summer season, but what it is going to be like in the winter....only time will tell !

Personally I like it run down and empty, the more depressing the better....

In case you hadn't noticed a Tory council is destroying the island at this time. Lovely Greenmount Primary School, which everyone fought to save, has been axed. 2 shop frontages in Upper High St are a dole office. At least Ryde has easy access to mainland. Spare a thought for Ventnor which is being yet further marginalised by Boy Wonder and a council that cares not. All 3 main parties are rubbish.
