just got back from my first year going to BMC - it was incredible. we played the VP fanfare as well this year. took it much faster than this tempo.

The playing is surprisingly good for how bad the conductor is. So disengaged from what the players are doing. And what is up with the hip swings?

I think it's an amazing one. He wrote a bunch of them, and this one he wrote for his father, the principal horn player in the Vienna Philharmonic. Hence the name lol
This is a great recording. Lots of good things happening there, especially dynamics. I'm a tuba player, and I've played this many times. Great vid!
