Viva! investigations have revealed that most cows are kept in confined areas on dirt and cement floors; and the babies, sometimes only a few hours old, are taken from their mothers. Because cows produce significant amounts of milk for only ten months after they have birthed a calf, they are forced to continuously have babies in order to keep the milk flowing.

  • To the narrator: You are an ignorant bitch who has no idea what you are talking about. It is very obvious to me that you havent spent any time on a dairy. I live on one that my family has operated for 103 years

  • you're truly ignorant.

  • @dfholton : I am curious -- enlighten me. What is it really like on these dairy farms, assuming that your family did not own an ideal, free roaming, cows-are-our-family type farm ?

  • don't drink factory milk, if you go to your local supermarket, they will have local milk, it may cost you an extra dollar but it's from health cows and if your thinking about being cheap and buying factory milk just remeber fecies, puss, and chemicals then take a drink of that cheap milk...fuck being a vegan or veggie, meat is important to your diet but it should be respected and if your a real selfish asshole just remeber what your putting into your body..toxic chemical meat and milk, yum yum!

  • wells .....most of the stuff the lady is saying is true if you go to a dairy in rainy season all of the heifers are full of there own manure its sad to see them that way

except the actual cows that are milked they are kept clean and there the only ones that are kept comforted

in my opinion the cows that are milked live a lot better than the beef cows

  • Must agree she has absolutley no idea

  • @dfholton and so if this is not fact, where did the countless videos come from? It's easy to justify if you make your living this way, but your justification does make it right or not true.

  • dat bitch dont no shit bout dairy. and New Zealand milks way diff 2 u guys. but mind u dats factory farming NZ dont have any of those we r all free range if u now wot i mean.

  • dfholton? are you saying that ALL of these videos all over YouTube are lies? They were caught on tape... doing what they do. Maybe it's YOU who is blinded to the truth of what you do. Tell us about your dairy farm. What is different about you? I have decided to change my eating habits from meat to dairy for the sake of all of these animals. The slaughterhouse is cruel also.

  • I work on one of these "Factory" farms you so describe, and maybe YOU should spend some time on one, because you obviously do not know anything. We have a herd of 15k head milkig, and another 14k calf's. We keep our pens clean, and the cows health and well being come first.

  • This is a video about factory farming, not regular, smaller dairy farms.

Facotry Farms are factories-the animals are machines, not animals. They are not treated with kindness or allowed to roam in pastures like you see on a smaller dairy farm.

And the truth is, the dairy industry pays billions a year in advertisements so the population thinks it needs milk for calcium and this is completely untrue. There are many other sources including, leafy greens and beans.

    Factory farming is sick.
