Scottish fighter Sean Wright, of Contender Asia, helps me with my Thai round kick. Being around so much good Muay Thai here I've come to notice that my upper body torque is inconsistent when compared to the best kicks in the gym. I ask him to help me on my kick, which at first he says is pretty good, but I asked a more precise question regarding my upper body and he immediately began advising me on the issue. His instruction is fast and exactly to the point, comparing the action to the drive that a sprinter gets between his arms and his legs. As you can see, his cross-torque is a thing of beauty, even in slow motion. Sorry there's not much audio on this, it was impromptu. But watch the movements, they're very crisp and beautiful.

Aye sweeping the kicking hand down helps with getting the hips to turn over, just as turning your pivot will. Good instruction though, just don't emulate his stiffness as well. ;)
