From the 1988 album "Port Royal"

Out in the world you can watch'em struggling
For a small piece of luck
They won't die with a smile on their face

For possession they'd kill their mothers
For some bucks they deny themselves
And the whole world is right in that trace

They are Riding Forth
No time to lose
Got to alter every place
They are Riding Forth
No way to choose
And the next step's out to space

With a high hand they watch their buildings
Self-righteously praise their deeds
No time for recess on their way

In a way it is quite amusing
But it's a fake of deepest dye
Let's hope they'll see it one day

They are Riding Forth
No time to lose
Got to alter every place
They are Riding Forth
No way to choose
And the next step's out to space

Pay Attention to History
Look at All the Things They've Done
No Remains, There's Nothing Left
It's All Blown to Kingdom Come

  • @ildur I see no dislikes,RUNNING WILD forever \m/

  • @vett3l0l killed as in blown to the kingdom of god, better known as heaven.

  • @popstinkslikeshit blown to kingdom come simply means killed.

  • @gustman17 It means something like "a big expolosion after nothing remains" or " blown into oblivion"

  • @gustman17 I am not exactly where that phrase comes from, it's from old English. It is really just an exaggeration. Like, a really big explosion or something like that. I think it comes from old religious folks, but I am not sure.

  • @sodomisticthrash Thanks for the explanation. I had an idea of what that meant, but now it's much clearer.

That sentence was my guess for what the lyrics mean, and I suppose I was right: greed drives people to do everything for more money and power, even if that means destroying the environment or their people.

Now what I don't understand is the meaning of the phrase "blown to kingdom come". I would like an explanation for that :P

  • @gustman17 When we say something like "everything in the book" in English, It is really just a phrase meaning that you would do anything. Sometimes when a friend plays a trick or joke on another friend and it is very obvious we might say it is the "oldest trick in the book." I hope that helps!

    Cheers!

  • So fucking catchy, love this song!

Though Im not sure what's the meaning of the lyrics

Greedy people that do everything in the book to satisfy their greedy selfs?

  • @BLACKSABBATH0HM

Yeah but I still think the intro is the best part
