Strasburg No. 31 - former Canadian National No. 7312 - was put back into service on Labor Day weekend, 1960, and it's still running today on the "Road to Paradise." No. 31, which was built by Baldwin in 1908, was last used by the CN at Stratford, Ontario and was moved to Strasburg in 1959. Reconditioned for tourist service, the 78-ton engine pulled all of Strasburg's steam-powered summer passenger trains until the mid 1960s, when it was joined by CF&I 0-4-0 Camelback No. 4 and PRR 4-4-0 1223 (both now retired). Today, the Strasburg's bigger engines are normally used during the summer and No. 31 - now renumbered back to 7312 - works the off season months along with 2-6-0 No. 89. This footage was filmed over several days in April 2008.
