@jerramy I hate to admit that you might be right. I believe we meant to go to the moon in peace for all mankind with Apollo, and I believe most astronauts are some of the best people that humanity has to offer, but let's face it. If you're going to a place where there is no one to go to war with, you're going to go in peace. Now, the US talks of going back with a rocket named Ares, after the god of war. I'm all for a strong space program, but I'm afraid you might be right,.

you don't have to push your petty fears and childish anger on everyone, go punch a wall or stuff and remote control up your ass

"we came in peace for all mankind"?? I hope to God that humans don't get the technology for fast travel in space because they will take their war, their aggressiveness, their megacorporation exploitation into the universe. Then, if there are other civilizations out there, they will come back to earth and blast us all out of existance for being sociopath psychopatic killers with a history of torture, mutillation and enslavement of ourselves. Who would want us out there?!

The Apollo era inspired a generation. Those kids who watched Apollo reach the moon are all grown up and wishing we had continued the exploration of the space frontier.
