One of my favorite UFC knockouts of all time, Spinning back kick right to the liver, that had to hurt.
-
who is he fighting again
???
-
@dachucks I know, but given that David Loiseau is (or was) a tae kwon do practitioner thought it would highlight that more, not that it makes much of a difference what style it was.

@Freakman13 ya do relize they teach you spinning back kicks in mauy thai too eh food for thought

@danielelfers Most UFC and MMA fighters dont have a pure martial background. They mix up what they do know to use in the sports. UFC is alot different to other MMA sports
TKD is actually used quite alot in UFC. Jon Jones for instance demonstrates the side and back kicks several times and lands them with alot of force. GSP and Anderson Silva both also use spin kicks in their bouts. Most of Anderson Silvas moveset is from Taekwondo. Because Taekwondo is a Hybrid martial art of Grapple and Striking

@hazza3 Yeah you know what I don't even know what I'm talking about there. I'm more Jiu Jitsu anyway. Though I've trained some striking my major focus is ground. So striking I don't know as much about. I think what I was trying to ge at though if I can be clear is most UFC fighters train in kickboxing or Muay Thai and TKD isn't something they understand and it makes it hard to avoid if you don't know what's coming.

Yow, i HATE back kicks. That hurt worse than taking a solid punch to the head.

@danielelfers Block efficiently? I beg to differ having actually trained in two different styles of Taekwondo. The blocking is good, sometimes really really stupid in other styles but it still works. The main point is the parry instead of taking the force with a block. Parrying a strike gives you the chance to strike back.

@1029Itachi No I haven't. I don't really know many of the fighters, I most just watch for the Jiu Jitsu. But I know a lot about the different martial arts.
-
@danielelfers TKD is a great base to build off of for kickboxing and muay thai, plus it provides discipline and flexibility. You obviously haven't seen Cung Le or Anthony Pettis fight. They really know how to use TKD in the octagon.
