I've gotten to the point in my life where I'll buy anything blue.
It is my favorite color after all.

Packaging

The name alone makes this treat a classic. I believe Yorks have been around for 70 years or so and haven't changed in the slightest. 70 years of elderly women waltzing in and clearing entire mint flavored chocolate aisles just to get their fix. It's an epidemic, don't let them convince you otherwise. When I was a kid, I would always go grocery shopping with my mother. It was then I realized what a wondrous place the world is for a food addict like myself. Cookies, biscuits, and every variety of soup under the sun. I'd stick with her for about 2 minutes then wander off into the magazine aisle. I'd plop myself down with a candy bar and read all about the latest video games coming out that month. Even though I only had a portable gaming system at the time, I still loved hearing about all the new things that were afoot. I've actually never owned a true console. I've had gaming PCs and handhelds for ages, but never a console that you could plug right into your TV and game to your heart's delight. The closest I ever came was a few years ago when I bought a Sega Dreamcast. It worked perfectly and I played with it for hours. But for some reason I can't recall today, I sold it. I sold my one and only legit gaming console. It's the one moment in my life I truly wish I could take back. Then again, I needed the money quite badly then. Hm, perhaps it was fate. Jet Grind Radio, Soul Calibur, and Sonic Adventure all kept me going throughout those days of yore. I've always been a big video game nerd. Before I was into Hersheys and Kinder, I was into Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider. My best friend Matt actually had a PSX (Playstation 1) and I would always hang out at his place to play it. I still remember how ridiculously long some of those loading times were. I could have chopped down a tree, made a sandwich, and became a world renowned chef in the time it took Final Fantasy 7 to load. It was all worth it though, just to see Cloud's hair. That man took the worst possible case of bedhead and transformed it into a haircut Otakus would cherish for decades. The giant sword on his back was just the icing on the cake. He was essentially every single 90's video game stereotype in a nutshell. Doesn't take any guff, carries a massive weapon, and gets all the ladies. Like a softer version of Duke Nukem. Oh, that reminds me, I still have to pick up Duke Nukem Forever. I bet after 14 years in development it's going to be awesome.

Right?

Taste, Texture, And Consistency

I was surprised at how much sugar was in these things. Seeing as how it's a minty treat, I expected it to have almost none. I only took a few bites of it and stashed it away for later. 5 days later, I finally finished it. It was chilling (Pun intended) in my fridge just waiting for my slender tongue to caress it. Oh, the waiting just made it more electrifying. I slowly opened the sleek brushed steel doors to the cold box to reveal her snow white face. She glanced at me with a single eyebrow arched. Playing me close to her heart. I liked it. At first, I pretended not to notice her. I laid my attention upon the numerous jars of jelly and tubs of mustard. Every now and then I would see her flick her gaze towards me. It would never be for too long, perhaps a few milliseconds at most. Finally, after fondling the grapes for several minutes, I made my move. Sliding my fingers slowly across her bumpy chocolate ridges, I teased her. It was the moment we were both waiting for. Only a few inches stood between us and cocoa ecstasy.

Then I accidentally dropped her and the cat ate it.

Overall

A refreshing treat that's perfect for those muggy summer days. After 70 years in the business, it's good to know York isn't changing their formula at all. They went with what works and I respect them for it. Definitely pick this one up.
