I would have never recognized "Nicky" either. I've been wondering: Did old-time wrestlers wear coloured trunks and boots? They mostly look black on film to me, but sometimes a different shade of black, like Murphy here. Red, perhap?

I can't believe that was Nick Bockwinkel. I had no idea he started that early on. Plus he looked nothing like he did later on.

It made for some good epithets from the babyfaces when Bockwinkel was a heel: Nick Bullwinkle, Nick Hoodwinkle, Nick Jerkwinkel, etc.

Great,rare old footage of Nick Bockwinkel as a young babyface before he found himself as a heel in the AWA. Bockwinkel is one of the all-time greats. BTW, The announcer was the original Jules Strongbow.
