I much prefer this version to the 2005 version

@vixta1987 I couldn´t agree more ... the BBC version is so much better, and I cannot believe that someone can think the opposite

I really can't stand whickham! If I ever meet someone with that last name I will probably freak about how they have a last name from my favorite book, and then will stomp on them because of the character!

@raynebeauty although i do wish that they followed the dialogue of the book a bit more closely, but yes i agree the best version and gorgeous sceneries-like colin firth dripping wet ;)

@TheFuamus The long-lost standard of "true" manliness, when most males try to imitate it, comes off as "gay" by today's standards (I never get tired of hearing the old lie, "Chivalry is dead"). True, some examples of manliness are timeless (love of wife, hard work, regard for God, etc), but today's brutal stereotypes MUST be knocked down before there are no real men left.

This is the best version of P&P, however, I liked the realism of the 2005 version and the ages of the actors were a little more accurate, but I did not like how it was cut so short - I suppose that is the best you can do in a 2 hour movie.

No wonder Colin Firth took the Best Actor for this year's oscars.... he is such a fine British actor
