England is Beautiful! And Southampton like every city has it's good and bad areas....London has good and bad areas....Even Malibu Californa has good and bad areas.... etc. etc. Overall Southampton has plenty of shops, a good mall, lots of green, and nice docks , and has an exciting history since the Titanic came out of Southampton. If people are expecting there to be golden streets and big fancy mansions everywhere...well sorry were not in Heaven.

Everywhere has good and bad places. The bad places in soton are far from wherever you need to go. Could be worse, that skanky city down the m27 has a constant gloom and depression about it wherever you are in it. Plus soton is one of the greenest cities you could visit and happens to have an immense football club. Wow maybe I'll go there, I mean here, well the university.

i love Southampton :))

yes we have our fair share of anti-social wankers and benefit hunters..... but on the whole, it knocks the shit out of anything in the North of England.....

i've seen some right crabby places.. Brimingchav!!...Liverpoo,....B­radford upon Asian, Newcast-offs, Manchesturd!... the list is endless....

Not only that, but we also speak proper English down here.....(well, most of us do, unless you're Polish!)

of course it's gonna be full of different people, it's a city.

only some places are dodge, like even i admit some places, i wouldn't want to walk round on a dark night..or broad daylight infact,but it's the same everywhere you go..

and actually, woolston isn't that bad, there are different places that are still classed as woolston, and i live in the safe and quiet part of it.

Harsh comments... I live in the city centre near Town Quay and love it here. Sure there's places that are run down on the outskirts of the city, but that's the same as every other city! And about the dangerous drivers - I've not experienced any more of that than anywhere else I've been. It's a good, safe city to live in, with a good nightlife, good shops, and if you know where to look, you can find some really nice walks like through the city centre parks, Riverside, and the common.

@JusticeSeeker1000 Its full of anti-social yobs & dick head drivers. You drive here on a Friday night you find that everyone drives dangerously or races around the city all the time. It is full of anti-social yobs but its not as bad as it was 5-10 years ago. Dangerous weekend drivers in this city are the biggest threat!

@JusticeSeeker1000 I'm from this city, Bitterne & Shirley are not the "Real slums" its actually St Mary's/St Denys/Northam that are the slummest parts of southampton. I agree that its overun with immies. Shirley is all Polish & St Mary's is all Asian. Woolston/Weston/Thornhill/Bitt­erne brewery/sholing is all chav & skin-head ridden.

The truth about Southampton:

It has some nice places sure, but in general it's a welfare reliant city, you have some real slums like Bitterne and Shirley, the City is full of jobless, anti-social yobs, it's got a large number of immigrants and just like the welfare reliant, they're a nightmare.
