I just wanted to take it out and wind it up last night. Went right up to 70 mph, pretty smoothe.

  • I too love driving my 63 beetle, stock 40 horse motor, drum brakes and skinny little tires. Driving these cars well is a rewarding experience.

  • got at least a 1600 in there right....? ur pretty high up in there in power haha

  • @gasjockey101 just my 2cents but I do believe anything older than 1969 is not required to have seat belts because most never came with them until the 70's(anyone can correct me if I am wrong on the years)

  • beetle power!

  • @bc65925 bowden tube is one of those simple parts that looks like it shouldn't make any difference at all, but if it the kink is off even slightly, you have problems. if you do a search for "bowden tube solid mounts" some people on samba said it is not necessary for use with solid mounts on buggies, but i dont know if that is true or not because samba people are wrong a lot of times

  • That's cool to see. Glad it went well for you. My grandfather had a beige bug from the mid 70s until 1999. I have a few nice memories of going places in that car. Though he never went up to 70! I'd say the fastest he ever went was about 45.
