Thank-you for answering most of my questions, but the 40GB PS3 isn't Universal Power Supply. So I have to find some kind of voltage converter, they usually have those kinds of things in Chinatowns and Little India's, so I might find a cheap one, hopefully not cheap, but as long as it does the job, I'm happy, plus, my family in Germany don't have HDTV, they only have a few SDTV's, so I guess I am out of luck. Maybe I'll bring my PS3 to Germany, then I'll buy stuff over there.

hey guys, can u please explain how come it says 1250 watts on my ps3 AC power cord? I use a 80gb ps3.

if im not mistaken the ps3 power supply is rated at 380W output(max), 1250W might be what the power cord is rated at and that has nothing to do with the usage.

Hello,
I am going to Germany in 6 days (going to be there for 30 days), and I am bringing my US PS3, I know the power there is different from the USA, in US, the power is 120V 60Hz, in Germany (Europe) it is 220V 50Hz, the plug is different too. But also, the video signal is different as well, the video signal in USA is NTSC, in Germany (Europe) it is PAL, do I have any luck? Should I wait till I get to Germany, or should I get stuff from Frys Electronics or BestBuy? Please reply.

Your American NTSC PS3 should work in Germany. Im in sweden and with imported american ps3's (bought pre eu release...) you just have to change the power cord so it fits the wall socket. The games are 99% Region Free and if your hooking it up to a HDTV with HDMI, NTSC should not be an issue! Some Blu-Ray movies are Region locked and it will only play DVD's that are region free or region 1. Theres also no issues using a american PSN account in Europe.
I hope this answers your questions :)
