Sucks that your truck kept shutting off. Did they ever find the problem? My brother-in-law bought an old Covenant Columbia and is having the same issue with it shuttin off. Can't find the issue? Any idea what they found???

yeah i had the same problem with no miles...i lasted all of like 3 months with them and then left after warning them numerous times. 2 of my partners for team driving had quit and i ended up going solo for a lil while with a brand new truck, so luckily no problems with the truck itself, but just wasnt gettin any miles, even after i switched to refer units for them as they recommended to get more miles.

nice lookin truck, bad company
drove for these guys for two months and left, money was good but they didnt have the freight to keep me running so i sat most weekends from friday night to monday morning. sat in alabama 36 hrs tryin to get home. I asked to bobtail since it was same distance from there to terminal as from the terminal to home. they said no, I did anyway. turned truck in that day. they cheat there customers and there trucks are not safe. I could have been killed 3 diffrent times.

yes. that was the same for me to. even after they moved me over to SRT because they said something about moving solos there and keeping the teams. this was maybe in 2006 I think. and the Driver Managers would keep you out of the shop with problems on your truck and when you finally got in, then the mechanics would hear about it from me and I think they wrote a report against that manager, I hope they did.
I remember sitting with my trainer for almost a whole weekend and he got steaming mad.

I wasnt with a trainer, I had drove before (team) but had to take there refresher course (3 days). Our truck would shut off with out warning at the worst times. Twice goin over a mt pass and once on an off ramp. We had to take the curved ramp at 25 and it a posted 10mph with 40,000 lbs fully loaded. and it would do this at freeway speeds shuting down. they kept saying it was something with the programing and covenants shop was the last 1 to touch the truck. asked for a diff truck, never got it.

wow! I was really wet behind the ears then and I had panic attacks. That would have been really bad for me.

Nice Rig. Interior looks just like my Century except mine is blue seats. Where did you keep the 706 transmitter? Saw the headpiece but not the radio. How did you power it? What kind of antennas? etc...

I kept the radio near the bed. I had the shop wire in large cabling, which was attached to the computer board so that it wouldn't violate their rules about connecting it to the battery. I ran a coax out a gasket to the catwalk and used a large bumper 3/8 inch mount with a hamstick. Previously I had it connected to one of the mirrors but the SWR was higher there. And I used a glass-mount antenna for 2m and a window mount 2m for APRS when I worked at another company.
