Oh I get it being the ultimate break up song. I was visiting home in New York at age 14 and my boyfriend broke up with me when I came back and the postcard had just gotten to him that I sent. Yeah this song was out than. No worries, Randy probably wanted a girlfriend who was not afraid to touch.......I have autism. But still I didn't understand than what it was all about.

Actually it's Robert John singing it. It's one of his biggest hits way back when. The Beegees redid it. But that's his voice, and his song, for real.

Well, they did write hits for other artists before and after Saturday Night Fever. The studios were probably just looking for acts that had the Bee Gees' "sound."
