  • I've been using this technique time and time again. It covers your centre & allows you to attack theirs leaving them an open target to be hit. Great Concept. You can also actually do this from the middle of your opponent not just from his side. I think Jin showed this in the Tan Sau tutorial clip.

I have a question. I go to the gym and I body build,I have big biceps, chest, lats, bi's etc..I know WC relys on body structure for power but is having big muscles actually ever a bad thing in WC?

  • it's not a bad thing at all as long as you maintain your flexibility and it doesn't hinder you from protecting your centerline. peace!

  • You are a very good teacher, im a martial artist myself (Tae Kwon-Do) and im one degree away from black belt, This is a really cool technique, i was wondering if you would be able to show the strike more often, and maybe u might want to try multiple camera angles, but overall YOU ROCK. Keep up the good work

  • thank you. peace!

  • I'm sure you've been told this alot, but you sound alot like Norm MacDonald. ^^

  • who's your teacher and is he in america?

  • Hey Jin, I'm curious, who is your sifu and what WC lineage are yu from? By the way I like your intsructional videos.

  • you are both right. where you get the inconsistencies and questions are from the differences between "fighting in the ring" and "fighting in the street". i'll cover this subject very soon because it's a subject that has been coming up. i'll explain it there. peace!

  • If that was the case then boxers would use it. If you watch boxing 65% of the knockouts have come from left hooks(Jack Dempsy,Suger Ray Robinson,Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson Evander, etc) Or a right cross(Joe Louis, Ali, Larry Holmes, Billy conn, Jake Lamatto etc) Your theory makes since if both fighter punched at the same time while standing in front of each other but who fights like that? lol A good boxer is a fighter who sets up his punches(combo) behind the jab and keeps his head moving

  • Whatever kind of punch, if the wing chun practitionner is skilled and fast enough, if the punch isn't direct as a straight line, then it is useless to block it. For example, if the opponent does a circular punch, the wing chun practitionner will strike in the gap created directly : direct straight line principle.

  • Great...this is a good way to explain how to switch stances from tan. I would like to request your way of doing kick defenses with stop kick, bong gerk, and yap gerk.
