Time for part two of this WAY rare, vintage episode of ABC's $20,000 Pyramid! This episode takes place during the week of 7/5/76-7/9/76, and features guest stars Loretta Swit (of M*A*S*H fame), and Clifton Davis (of That's My Mama and Amen fame). Put ME in that Circle with her, man. She would have won the $20,000 right then and there if I was her partner. All that needed to be said was "your fingers..." and "the street..." and that would have been it. :)

That moment reminds me of the time when Ernie in the early years of the pyramid has a hard time guessing Liz Taylor's Husbands. I believe Barbara Feldon(the clue giver I believe) gave him every person marrieds to Liz taylor but he could not say it. Would have gotten him $10,000. In Jenna's case, if Clifton had said the street, she would have said cross and won $20,000. Two tough losses!

70s version was a lot looser with the judging. There's a clip of Tony Randall describing "Things Made of Cotton", and he says "Stuffings in little bottles of pills..."

That contestant won the big money. :-)

That's tough right there, really tough. Clifton Davis got her through so fast I thought she was going to make it. Things that Cross is a broad subject where there are several ways to interpret it; cross shaped things or things that can cross is something that there are many ways to interpret it. I've noticed that Bob Clayton the announcer always comes up with the right clues; probably he's there every day and forms his own lists himself. A close round nonetheless.

I don't think anybody noticed yet, but Clifton said "Two Sticks," took a brief pause. then said "For a Kite." That would have been buzzed in the 80s versions.

"A busy intersection" would have been good, but do you think "a church symbol" would have been either too descriptive or not descriptive enough?
