I find it amazing that the dumb asses in Hollywood did not have the brains to nominate David Lyons for an emmy, but did nominate Ernest Borgine for guest starring. What a bunch of bafoons. David Lyons should walk a way with an emmy and golded globe. I've been through what his character has been and his performance helped me to realize I wasn't dealing with it either.

David Lyons is an amazing actor, this scene was so believable. Even though we are a couple of seasons behind in ER over here, I can watch this video and say that I believe he is doing us here in Australia proud. Well done.

David's acting just blew me entirely away. I have to admit that I had no idea what he was capable of...just incredible.

I'm sorry to say this but Morris's face throughout this whole thing was funny!

@eventingirl001 If you mean, what led up to this, the background is that a guy came into the ER after being wrongfully accused of molesting one of his music students, and his family had been caught in a fire. The guy's brother beat him up while Brenner watched, and it made Brenner recall his childhood.

I agree. He totally deserved to be nominated for an Emmy for this. I watched ER for 15 years and this is one of the most memorable scenes from it. David did fantastic acting. My heart broke from him. Before this, I actually thought he was just a pretty boy but this made me realize what an oustanding actor he was. I fell in love with Simon Brenner right then and there. The actor who played the pedophile was terrifc as well. I was so sure he was innocent until that scene.

That episode was hard to watch when it first came on and it still is. I can't believe there are such monsters in the world who would take advantage of innocent children and try to take away their innocence. :(
This scene stopped me in my tracks....made me cry.....David Lyons went up a million points on my respect scale, it was an awesome performance.
