Ra was a humanoid alien who was able to go into a ghostlike ethereal state in order to possess a human host. Right before he died he was trying to escape by once again going ghost to find a host, but he was toast since as everyone knows ghosts are not immune to nuclear radiative energy. Just ask all the entities busted by the Guys in Gray with their proton packs (unlicensed nuclear accelerators). Thus the false god Ra (like the real god Gozer) got his ectoplasmic-alien-ghost-body vaporized.

You idiot... ITS THE SERIES THAT ARE MAJORLY INNACCURATE!! I hate all the series, Ra is not a goauld he's powerfully psionic and telepathic read the books! And also a really ancient alien. the books written by Bill McCay may be innacurate with what Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin want; but its a far better universe than SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Anyone who hates the series which bastardized the movie please give this a thumbs up Khonsu the Killer Rules!
