Joe Holt - Surrey With the Fringe on Top- radio for 1-10-09

Post #1 for this year's new YouTube channel. This year, my radio program (beginning with this show) shifts in emphasis to embrace musical improvisation more broadly. Especially so with regard to freely improvised pieces, which I will be sharing (from the large "vault") each week, in anticipation of a follow up release to "Stories Without Words" (my first CD of "free improv"). Also, expect more improvised treatments of Classical themes, both in concert, and on the show. Of course, there will always be the familiar (jazz and popular) standards. This one is always fun to play. Welcome 2010!
