I don't think they are similar enough to start spouting ripoff at all. And the Howard/Wilson commercial isn't very good. Jimmy the cab driver was awesome.

Wilson totally ripped off Logue. Rainn is not nearly as funny or fluid as Logue. TNT commercials seem too scripted and labored. Logue was able to portray McBride as if he were a real person. I have always lived in Mass, and yes there really are people like McBride. Rainn's character, from Wisconsin?? WTF.I'm not buying it. I am going to have a hard time watching the Office now. I hope the pay was good Wilson! Don't try to come to Boston with that shit!

I saw that commercial and it made me think of these old MTV spots so in my opinion Rainn Wilson did copy these originals. Just my two cents.

Only the Donal Logue sketches were about 5 years before RHCP video for By the Way which was again, another rip off.

Dude I know. I really don't like rip off artists. You're right, the Jimmy McBride material is hilarious. I'd love to see Donal doing another series like this.
