YouKnowIGotSoulcom did exclusive interviews ith the writers and producers of Aaliyah's eponymous album and Black from Playa confirmed that Static wrote the song about a family member battling drug addiction. It was originally a Playa song but Aaliyah liked it and recorded it for that album. The song; however, didn't make the final cut. So there it is. =) You should check the article out, it's a great read.
