I think C8 implementation is not as good as Daz Studio so I make animations in DS, export as poser file with Daz "Poser Format Exporter" plug in,then import pz2 file into Carrara.
Big advantage is DS Puppeteer has a simple layer function so you can for example do animation for Head then Mouth then Eyebrows or whatever you want - When you save, it combines them all. Much better when trying to coordinate the various parts of the character. Its Simple and Daz seems to work faster than Carrara.
@kendahke I believe he placed his dots like that so he could use a easy curving motion for his mouse, the order you put your dots doesn't seem to matter..
The original software demonstrated to me many years ago showed the advantage was for performance animation, as opposed to the studio pipeline of animate-tweak-render. Dots were laid out all over the place in what might appear as random. To the puppeteer they offered a quick way to get to a number of poses quickly, their combination allowing character performance.
Can anybody help me out here? I can't find that tool tray. I know it's under Assemble, but in the tool box on the right side of the window, I don't see "controller" How do you get there?
are the dots read in any order or do they have to be placed vertically with a curve at the bottom? Meaning, if I decided to put the dots in horizontal order left to right then right to left, would that matter? Your tut doesn't make that clear.
This looks to me like pose to pose animation without the advantage of IK. The traditional timeline offers a lot more versatility unless there's more to this set up than you've demonstrated.
Does the Puppeteer grid expand? What happens when you get to the bottom of the grid? Say you had a lot of complex moves over a longer time frame, how does that work, as the grid looks small.

So is this only in Pro or is it in normal Carrara 8 as well?
So, can Carrara also see, and use, the morphs that Poser can see?

You should have shown the final full animation with all the movements incorporated.
