Remute. Ali Wells set up Perc Trax in late 2003 as an outlet for both his own music and the music of his friends and colleagues within the dance music industry. Supporters of Ali's recent work include Deep Dish, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, James Zabiela, Paul Oakenfold, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, King Unique, X-press 2, Moshic, Chris Fortier, Hybrid, John '00' Fleming, James Holden, DJ Chus, D. Ramirez, Mara, Marco V, Tom Stephan, Bill Hamel, Max Graham and Saeed & Palash. This diverse range of high profile dj support shows the appeal of the music Ali has created and this diversity will be reflected in the broad range of music forthcoming on the label ranging from tribal and tech house to full on acid house and dance floor techno. The label kicked off in 2004 with Ali's stunning 'Ice Cream for Kenton'. Ali felt he had to launch the label with a project of his own. The track proved to be the biggest of Ali's career so far and was included on James Zabiela's huge 'Alive' compilation on Renaissance. Through it's next handful of releases Perc Trax has released deep tech house from Border Community's Avus, which included a stunning James Holden remix, Swedish techno from Hertz, uplifiting house from Good Livin and deep tech/tribal house from Paul Lancaster. The success of these tracks in terms of sales, licensing and most importantly DJ feedback helped the label build in profile and reach a new audience as its sound developed and matured. After a break for summer Perc Trax entered the final phase of 2005, firstly with Ali's own 'Splashy', which was licensed to Slam's 'Night Drive' compilation on Resist and gained support from Kompakt's Michael Mayer. Next came Marc Ashken's 'Bus Driver' which received a slew of Radio1 and Kiss plays and came complete with a remix from Crosstown Rebels' Tolfrey & Sylvester. Autumn 2005 also saw the launch of a sell-out London club night to showcase the artists and DJ's who have appeared Perc Trax. A feast of quality releases lined up for 2006, including a huge package for Perc Trax #10, the future is looking good for the Perc Trax, which was recently described as 'one of the year's most promising labels' in DMC Update.
