This is my 20" G&E shaper. It was made somewhere between 1918 and the early 20s .

  • Beautiful machine! I'm hoping to have my John Steptoe restored this summer or next. Mine is of similar vintage (1918), though slightly smaller - 15". It's only too bad that shapers are so slow. But they make up for that in other areas such as internal keyways and the cheapness of tooling. Cheers!

  • I was reading the late ,great Fred Colvin on shapers and shaping. Looks like he was a big fan of Gould and Eberhardt machines. How many shapers you got in there,Shaperhaven? Thanks for a good vid and a nice machine.

  • Pure machining enjoyment. Nice quiet machine. I always like watching the chip form on a shaper. I t sure shows up how good your tool sharpening technique is. I see this isn't the only shaper you have. More to follow?
