I went to Eddie Cockrans grave in 1996 ,he,s buried next to his dad frank who died only two years after Eddie in 1962. Karen Carpenter is in a crypt a 100 yards away from Eddys grave! I also remember coming home from junior high school and turning American bandstand and seeing Dick Cark upset talking about Eddies death. I guess that makes me old as the hills and twice as dusty!

I was only 14 or so when he was singing, but we all thought he was about the coolest cat around. This is sure ironic he would sing this song, RIP my friend. We'll be along shortly.

I'm from Bell Gardens ,went to the same schools as Eddie did, only a few years later.My Son still lives in Bell Gardens (he is 32 yrs old and listens to Eddie all the time.I used to go to the cemetary where Eddie is buried, there are a few that get together at his grave site on his Birthday and anniversary of his death but, you are right, his following is much bigger in England then here,thats to bad , he was truly one of the greats of early rock and roll , long live Eddie!

I was wondering, do they have anything at Bell Gardens (in the schools) like a memorial plaque?

Cont...after that went to Clear Lake, Buddy Holly Boulovard (spells?, ballroom (closed) and to the crash site in that field. I will remember that day. Went to Chippenham in the 90's. The guys in nearest PUB knew who Eddie was. So sad to say, he's more forgotten in US than UK. Take care/Roland
