  • thats bad for horses. that could twists their bouls and kill them....

  • @jessicadiane97

Horses do this naturally all the time, the only time you don't want them rolling is when they are collicking....

  • really impressive. how did you do this?

  • @chemmylab123

I would walk in circles and scrape the ground with my foot, then when he pawed the ground too, reward him. Eventually he got the idea the circles and pawing the ground meant lying down. Take a look at the other clip of him lying down, also under Art of Horsemanship. We have also had someone lying on his back now, so guess I should film this soon.

  • when you taught him, did you just wait for him to lay down, click and reward him? what did you use for the cue to lie down?

  • I started by teaching him to paw the ground, which is what they naturally do prior to lying down, then made him circle, paw ground, circle, etc., until he went down. And yes, click and reward. To begin couldn't feed him whilst he was lying down, but now can stroke him all over. He's a big horse too....

  • Actually if this is done corectly nothing bad should happen. Know the facts before you post a bunch of "this is cruel" crap.

  • I'm training on this myself. We are only at the beginning stage. But with patience comes rewards^^ It makes me so happy when I see horses like yours.

Its a shame that some people dont see the difference in bad training and safe training, they just shout out abuse to us.

  • this is the right way to get horses lay down :]

  • @naturallyjenku Thank you for posting this! I want to teach my horse to lay down but I can't feel right about using ropes to pull him to the ground!

  • @jessicadiane97 how stupid you are? :-------D you should be quiet cause you don't know about it anything :D

  • that must have taken FOREVER.
