Nick Drake song Joey - I think NRD was singing more about a feeling in this song than an actual person. This video features flower gardens and longing.
@joseeb09 this is song is an outtake, you may find that great master-piece in the collection box set ''Fruit Tree'',there's anoters nbrilliant songs that didn't enter on their three perfect albums.Sorry for my poor english too,'cause I'm from Brasil and I naturally speak portuguese:)
I really liked the graphic word of the video, and doesn't matters how everybody interpretates this song,I won't say wahat I think, for me it's about death but also about a broken heart!
@ Ripp1e1 : thanks so much for the video. I think the song gives a more general message than just an account of a girl. Joey will come, but when it's time to go, when once again the there is snow...where she may come from may trouble you some, still you wait for joey to come. The song talks about a truth which we otherwise tend to overlook or not understand clearly. But it's my personal interpretation, and as any great work of art, the song can have many interpretations
@DesolationRow0 The way I hear it is Joey is visiting her husband's grave. 'She wouldn't be there if it could be that you were'...... Just like any fine piece of art - open to many interpretations. Now I'm gonna have to listen a few more times to make sure I'm not wrong..... Fascinating song. 'Why she was late might trouble you some' is like saying he died years earlier and is waiting for Joey to join him.,
@joseeb09 Hi there!! Not sure if anyone had gotten back to on the source of 'Joey'. It came out in 2004 on 'Made To Love Magic'. I also have the first 3 CDs. You might also be interested in the 'Family Tree' disc that came out last year. From what I've heard online, it's certainly worth getting. What's best of all is that someone else found this song as hauntingly beautiful as I have. Music IS the universal language whether it be in Dodge City, Kansas (my town) or wherever YOU call home.
@joseeb09 Hi there!! Not sure if anyone had gotten back to you on your question about the Nick Drake song 'Joey'. It can be found on an album of previously unreleased material released in 2004 called 'Made To Love Magic'. I have the first 3 CD's as well. Something you might also be interested in is the 'Family Tree' disc. From what I've heard online it's certainly worth getting. It's cool to know that someone else found this particular song as hauntingly beautiful as I have.
