Sri Lankans not darker than Indians. There are more dark Indians than entire Sri Lankan population many times over!

It so happens that fair skinned Indians are over represented in the media and tend to migrate abroad.

@sonofthedestroyer i didn't say "hotter," i said "sun is brighter." it's a question of latitude and not temperature.UV rays cause cancer in people with too little melanin. and i know who the khoisan are, and they are not light like most arabs and all berbers. "mixed" means one's parents were from two different (for lack of a better word) "races." Dude there is nothing wrong with being dark! There is no need to be defensive about it!

Displaying your ignorance again. Sun is too bright? Actually Sri Lankas maximum temp rarely goes above 35 celcius. In India it often gets close to 50 celcius. Many parts of Northern India are hotter than the south. Gujarat and Rajastan to name a few. There are lighter skinned people in Southern Africa. Ever heard of the Khoisan bushmen? If light lankans are 'mixed' that same 'logic' can be used on others too.

@sonofthedestroyer name one famous light-skinned sri lankan that isn't mixed, besides those with albinism. it's just common sense--the sun is too bright down there. there aren't light-skinned people there just like there aren't light-skinned people in sub-saharan africa: people would get skin cancer unless they have dark skin.
