  • Axe Deodorant works great for getting Sharpie/marker off your game carts (no joke). Get some Axe and spray it onto a paper towel until the paper towel is wet. Wipe the Sharpie off using circular motions and pressure. It doesn't leave any kind of discoloration or does any kind of damage to the cart (that I have seen anyways). It doesn't ALWAYS work 100% of the time, depending on how sunken in the Sharpie is, but if it can't get it completely off, it makes it so it's almost un-noticeable.

  • @akkuma420yahoocom

really wow man I never heard that before. Thanks for the tip. I am always up for new suggestions

  • Some harder to find NES games you found there. Bard's Tale? Wonder how that is. I used to dig the Immortal for the Genny. AVGN did a review for Dragon's Lair for the NES. The game looks horrible. I don't think he beat the first level. Give it a try. Conan played Conan for the NES. As for marker, there are several techniques. I mainly use rubbing alcohol, diluted. I heard you could also use dry erase markers. I've used goo gone, but, it all depends on the marker that was used.

  • @MikeGartner

Hey mike. I had never heard of some of these NES games before. I still need to play conan. I will try the alcohol and goo gone first. I dont have good luck removing perm marker with magic erasers for some reason

  • Nice video, Tom. I use goo gone and a old sock to get rid of marks on games.

  • @airforceshields

Im going to try goo gone. I used the magic eraser on one of my carts and theres a white streak on it now. THanks man

  • Awesome pick ups Tom. I like your Simpsons collection. I would pick up Pro Wrestling for that price.

  • sometimes you can use a combination of dry erase markers and alchohol wipes to get permanant marker off. It is somewhat hit or miss, but doesn't really hurt your cart to try. Personally I use Expo brands, I would suggest whatever you get you try on a spare junk cart of something (sports title, etc..) not sure that 'all' dry erase markers won't leave a mark behind.

  • Great video! When I first saw your Metal Gear box, I thought about the movie "The Rock." Not Kyle Reese, but same guy, different movie.

  • @tb46667 Oh wow, no, I've never gotten streaks before. I mean, sometimes the ink that I'm rubbing off smears into a streak-like mark, but you just keep rubbing till it goes away. I had never heard of the sandpaper bit, but it does kinda make sense. I think it's the bleach that's built into it that causes it to remove ink, though, because sometimes if the marker is weak, all I have to do is press a wet bit of the eraser on the ink and it starts to melt off without any rubbing. I'll be careful.

  • Nice pick ups Tom, I would keep Pro Wrestling cause the manual isn't that hard to find through a fellow youtuber or eBay if that's the worst case.

As for those Atari 2600 games, Pooyan, Sorcerer... and chase the chuckwagon??? Holy freakin' crap! That is a score that you should keep regardless! = )

  • Great pickups Tom, Glad to see some new videos up!
