I've lived in the south all my life and have just gotten into bluegrass/ alt. country within the past 4 years or so. I grew up, however, listening to punk staples like X. The first time I heard The Knitters, I felt like it was made especially for me. If you like these guys and their modern take on bluegrass, you should really check out bands like .357 String Band and Those Poor Bastards. It's country only darker and more fired up. :)
