@JOHNJ008 the Galactica did die fighting, did you see the damage on her? She was basically dead after the last jump, she would never jump let alone fight ever again so she was flown out in style. There's no better way to die than to be launched into a star LOL

I got the DVDs and have watched this Episode at least 2 times and makes me emotional everytime.

Sad, as I not seen it yet in the UK, hoping when it comes out on DVD I'll get it. Sad ending for the GALACTICA, she should of died fighting as she was built to.

it was fraking amazing this episode and very emotional it goes agaisnt all my beliefs giving up technology but i can understand why they did it, and you guys are right it is very touching how galacitca the first of its class (yes it was) was the last as well an amazing ship!!!!!!

When this aired, I cried when I saw this scene. The sight of the fleet plunging into the sun to the strains of the Colonial Anthem/TOS BSG theme was a heartbreaking moment. Good work on this.

How fitting, Galactica, the very first battlestar to come into existence (assuming that's true) to become the last battlestar in existence before heading out into the sun.
