Tom the Pole, an essay on the life of Tom Crean by James Sweeney.VOB

This is the story as written by James Sweeney aged 12 from St. Eunan's National School, Raphoe, Co. Donegal and is about 'Tom the Pole', Tom Crean the Antarctic Explorer's life. Tom is a young boy in Kerry and decides to join the merchant navy to see the world. The animation shows all the ships Tom worked on and where he journeyed to. James in his essay tells us about Tom's time in the Antarctic and his heroic saving of his crew members. This has been brought to you by the Irish Maritime Development Office and Transas.
