  • Very interesting demo, it pretty much explains what's important in the "slicing" motion, and how it works. From the fact the blade slides on its belly, and the various curves, one can recreate the motion.

The tool itself explains how it has to be used. That's something I noticed with other old tools: they tell the user what they were made for, and how to use them. Our ancestors sure knew perfectly well what they were doing, and how to design their tools. It's enginered before actual enginering.

  • Thanks for your amazing videos! I´m just watching them all. You almost make it an artform. Very very nice!

  • Thank you Scythesman8! This was the very video I needed. You are a genius to think of demonstrating on the snow. If you weren't headed for heaven, you are now.

  • Ye crazy man... great to see someone so dedicated even scything in the snow. Great description. Looking forward to future videos :)

  • Wow, thanks! That was what I needed. Thanky you for this movie.

  • COOL!
