Ethiopians were butchering one another let alone worry about a kingdom they had no control over. Lastly, Sudan historically is closer to Eritreans than Ethiopia ever was. The highlands and lowlands of Eritrea come from the Beja (HidareB).

Why we don't we understand the real enemy, how obvious the Italians divide and conquer and point fingers you are different from them, to this day, eritreans think they are different.
