  • There are 3 versions of Born to Lose (also known as King Outlaw).

  • Ah, that's why the other version that's up here (the one that gobacktogo uploaded) is a bit difference from mine!

What's the difference between the 3 versions? =/

  • Each has VERY similiar material...King Outlaw ver. 1 is a very rough cut and ver. 2 shows a bit more editing. Born To Lose is the final cut and easiest to watch. Personally, I think it could have been a great movie, but Kowalski was so focused on the world of Junkiedom, he missed a lot of the story. Plus, Lech is a pretty crappy film editor - not knowing when enough is enough.

There is so much Johnny footage that it could have easily been as good as the Ramones' "End of the Century" bio.

  • I didn't get anything out of the movie when it comes to Johnnys carrer. Even if i'm not that good on enlish, it felt like most of the talking was about how screwd up he could be sometimes and how HE whas as a person. And, why wasn't there any clips from interviews with Johnny and Nolan? :/

They could do as they did in "The filth and the fury" (where they did had some interview clips with Sid too, even if he was dead he atleast had a chance to say something too)

  • gobacktogo: Ahh, OK =) Lucky you ;-)=

  • Don't know where it's possible to find the original version. =(

The version that I have is just a burned copy that i downloaded (don't kill me for that ^^).

Gobacktogo: Np! ;-) Btw, the video clip that you've uploadad is longer and there's some singin' in it so don't remove it! It's NOT from the Born To Lose video.

Btw, what did you get all your thunders clip from? Some of ém are really intresting and nice even if the picture quality could be better.

    Btw...sry for my english. ^^

  • he was ALWAYS stoned on stage. that's what he was known for.

i love the dark grungy tone of this video. Johnny knew what real rock n roll sounded like. RIP JT, you are sorely missed

  • It hurt to see him try to light his cigarette while all the people around him just chatted with indifference.

    He was utterly destroyed.

This is like watching a man die. To the uploader: I'm not excited about the quality of the clip.

  • @0pine0tron6000 man, you said everything... it hurts a lot...

  • The real shocking thing about this clip is that he's 36 years old here...he looks decades older and can barely stand or talk coherently. What a complete waste of what could have been a long and successful life...

  • This is really sad. All good things must come to an end.

  • Waoh... I was in the crowd at "Le Gibus" this night, in my memory Johnny Thunders appeared during a "Rock in Chase" club night, of course open to anybody who felt the needs for rythms and beers, not only to those who wanted to see him playing live...

I think that's the reason why some people are just like assholes to him, some of them didn't realize they saw a legend... that's like "and the ass saw the angel..."

    Anyway, thanxxx for this video...

  • Là il est bien défoncé, Johnny!

  • The Book of Heroin Success Stories. One of the briefest volumes ever published.
