Wow this caller is SUPER uneducated. Marriage has been going on in multiple cultures who didn't know what marriage was for thousands of years. I bet he was surprised the Bible story characters practiced polygamy.

0 people are just... oh! nevermind..

"Alright! Alright! Can I have some one more question?"

The caller doesn't understand how humans have evolved throughout history-- the whole reason we have laws and a sophisticated code of social norms and mores today is due to the evolution of those primitive drives to be selfish and greedy and take advantage-- it's not until those base survival instincts were brought under control and refined in a cooperative society that we have awesome things like communities, neighbourhood watch, trial courts, food banks, adoption agencies, free love, etc.

the fact is that if you think, you will leave the bible and the koran in the trash

there is no god to asnwer to

why don't people understand that we have each other to answer to? can't religious people empathize with others and realize that they wouldn't want someone to hurt them so they won't do it to others?
-
It also grabbed pre-existent religions and ''gospels'' and ran with it but they are now under the control of that power that they usurped so long ago.
what if someone LIKES being dependant on religion or the belief in God? it's not forced on anyone....doesn't that say anything..we do have free will you know.

@pinkhana Well, of course addicts like being dependent on their substance of choice. As for not being forced on anyone, tell that to a baby at its baptism... and during its religious training... and its confirmation... et cetera ad nauseum.

The caller got 'em here. Marriage is spoken of in the Bible and it's an official sacrament of the Catholic church. We don't even have to go out of Genesis to see marriage in the Bible. From Genesis 2:23-25 "The man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."

Are you serious?
Marriage has existed longer than the Bible, and the Bible definitely isn't about one man, one woman - just ask King Solomon.
