http://advocate.nyc.gov/google - Join NYC Public Advocate Bill de Blasio and call on Google to disclose its political spending. Sign on to the open, public letter at: http://advocate.nyc.gov/google

After the Supreme Court's recent decision in Citizens United, corporations can now make unlimited election expenditures without disclosure of their involvement. And last month, Republicans in Congress blocked the Disclose Act, which would have restored some of the basic campaign finance laws eliminated by Citizens United.

Now that corporations have the ability to literally change the outcome of elections, highly influential companies like Google need to take on a new level of transparency and accountability.

Many of Google's competitors and other California-based companies voluntarily disclose all of their political spending, but Google continues to keep the public in the dark.

Keep our government accountable to us and not to corporations by:

• Signing an open, public letter to Google
• Following our campaign on Twitter (#disclosenow) and signing on to our Twitter petition
• Liking our Facebook page "I told Google to disclose now"
