While touring as the opening act for Willie Nelson, Ryan Bingham and his band, The Dead Horses, had the opportunity to check out the Voyage-Air Guitar that travels on the bus with Willie Nelson's band. He was so impressed with it that Nelson's harp player, Mickey Raphael phoned to see if he could buy a guitar for Ryan.
Well, of course, we were thrilled especially given all the success that Ryan has had this past year, winning an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, an Americana Music Award and a Grammy! All due to a song that he co-wrote with producer T-Bone Burnett that became the theme song for the Jeff Bridges movie "Crazy Heart". Ryan also performed the theme song "The Weary Kind" and another called "I Don't Know" in the movie. He had a small role as a band member in Colin Farrell's character's band, as a fellow named Tony.
Actively touring to promote his third major release "Junky Star", Ryan took a few minutes in Nashville to break in his new Voyage-Air Guitar. See the video.
