Joel Klein reacts angrily to Betsy Combier's charge he doesn't care about kids when she questions him at the Nov. '07 Panel for Educational Policy meeting in NYC on why charter school but not public school kids get $44 million in busing money.
Look, Klein is being paid through the back door by Billionaire Bloomberg to dumb down the population - the Corporate Class likes their consumers stupid, and easily swayed by propaganda/advertising! Dr. Z is another one on Little Bloomie's payroll, assigned to monitor the internet and lie about Bloomie's opponents. They are so transparent, it's laughable. Klein can't even lie effectively.
You seem to be a bit slow on the uptake, so once again...
Perhaps you could explain to me how the busing situation at nest - a predominantly white school - is evidence of racial discrimination, or that their attempt to move the Ross School - predominantly non-white!!!!! - into the nest school and provide them with free transportation was likewise evidence of disregard for minorities.
Your generalized ranting bores me. Hows about you answer the question(s) posed above, you demagogue.
Your incompetence, anonymous Dr. Z, is what is obvious? Have you checked to see how badly Inner City hispanics and blacks have achieved since the "Education Mayor" has dumbed down the tests and fudged up the numbers? Apparently, he has succeeded in dumbing down supporters like you, too!
Open your eyes and stop playing the spin game with these legalized criminals!
So have at it. Explain how either situation is evidence of a lack of regard for blacks and hispanics. In the meantime, I'll go ahead and ignore your bizarre insinuations about me being pro-school board.
What you and Ms. Combier fail to realize is that your game of racial pandering is as obvious as it is pathetic. It undermines any credibility you might have regarding legitimate complaints. It detracts from the cause you purport to champion.

Go ahead and rail against the school board all you want. I'm all for it, as I rarely have any use for bureaucrats. But try to stick to the facts, and legitimate, supportable claims. You seem to think it's ok to tar them with fabricated, incendiary slurs, all because you really, really don't like them.
Apparently Ms. Combier isn't alone in her incompetence.
My comments to her had to do with her spurious racial claims, which she then supported with an example - busing at the nest school - which CLEARLY has absolutely nothing to do with race.
Meanwhile, any private or charter school child may get free Atlantic Express bus service, paid for with the $44 million dollar subsidy by the city (the Independent Budget Office wants to stop this).
if a child wants to go to NEST and gets in, it will cost the parent $3000+ to get him/her there, or several hours/day on a subway (none are near the school) or city bus (still have to walk several blocks).
I have been in charge of transporting all the K-5 kids at one of my daughters' public schools, where wealthy parents have been paying $2600+ per year to get their children to/from the school, just as Joel has arranged through his discriminatory busing policy.
