A bus ride along the Northern side of Tung Chung road shortly after it was reopened shows the reason why there was so much debris in the road. Most of the sidewalk, consisting of small bricks, is gone.

  • Yeah - I remember. I went up that road that night and there was subsidence because the water had washed out the pavement.

    The only thing is that it hadn't yet been paved - the contractors were way behind schedule and the government probably opened the road regardless. It is common knowledge that it rains heavily at this time of year and the pavement should never have been left exposed.

    Shoddy job - as simple as that...
