Dan Deacon's Snookered from his 2009 album Bromst.

Lyrics:

been round this road so many times
feel like its skin is part of mine
this taste of milk is almost gone
still got no shame, but not for long!
been wrong so many times before
but never quite like this
heard all, in the rain, but the rain all turned to piss

i hope to make it home one day
i doubt that day will come
i know you, know, ________

  • My dog ran away while this song was playing, and during a thunderstorm no less. I don't hold it against the song though. A nice lady found him and we got him back the next day thanks to her. I'd like to think Dan's song was a good omen and the peace he tries to spread to the world is more than just music, but a true force that permeates into the very core of the planet and banishes a little more of the evil on it with each beat.

brb i need to take a shit.

  • Pretty touching man....pretty touching indeed.

  • This song makes me think about the question of "does a bear shit in the woods?". I personally like to to think they do but that they use little out house like things made by beavers.

  • Such a good song...

  • That last note is probably my favorite part of this song... AND I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • However, I feel that bars 16 to 24 are begging for a line cliche - he should change those bass notes!

  • The use of secondary dominant chords allows borrowed chords to resolve after causing a brief tension. Simply brilliant!

  • I know, man. Great.
